mindfulness for peak mental performance
Program Overview:
A six-week evidence-based mindfulness program designed specifically for Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians preparing for oral board certification, prepared by Dr. Ellen Cooke in partnership with Dr. Lexi Hill.
Purpose:
Preparing for board exams requires more than medical knowledge. Success also depends on maintaining focus, emotional regulation, resilience, and clear thinking under pressure.
This program teaches practical mindfulness skills that help physicians:
Reduce anxiety while studying
Improve concentration and retention
Recover more quickly after difficult study sessions
Build confidence
Sleep more effectively
Approach the examination with calm presence and mental clarity
No previous mindfulness experience is required.
Minimal time commitment is required (approximately 10 minutes per day 5 days per week).

Driving.
Eating.
Everything can become practice.

Letting Go of Perfection–Especially valuable for board preparation.
Restorative Recovery
For evenings, encourages sleep.

Exam Day Visualization
One of the most valuable.

Learning not to carry one question into the next.
One question does not determine the outcome.
